Q: Which geographic area does H&M Bay service?
A: Our LTL Divisions pick up regionally around our distribution centers and deliver to all 48 contiguous states. H&M Bay has distribution centers in Maryland, North Carolina, Florida, Massachusetts, California, and Washington State. Our Truckload Division picks up and delivers anywhere in the contiguous 48 states.
Q: When does H&M Bay pick up our product?
A: Typically we pick up LTL orders between Wednesday and Friday of each week for orders that are tendered for delivery the following week. Our Truckload Division picks up any day of the week.
Q: Does H&M Bay operate its own trucks?
A: We do not operate our own trucks. We work with a network of approximately 10,000 independent owner/operators. Our carrier network features top-tiered carriers in the LTL and Truckload temperature-controlled industry, all of whom must pass a thorough screening process before being allowed to load for H&M Bay.
Q: What types of product does H&M Bay handle?
A: We handle fresh, frozen and dry product. We do not handle hazardous materials.
Q: How do I get set up as a customer with H&M Bay?
A: You can click here to download the credit application or call our credit/collections department @ 800-932-7521 x:610 to request a credit application by phone. Complete the form and fax it to H&M Bay at the fax number on the application.
Q: How will I receive my invoices and delivery documents?
A: H&M Bay sends out all invoices and delivery documents (if required) electronically by either facsimile or email transmission. Alternatively, you can use your on-line account to download these documents. All of these methods incur no additional administrative or handling charges. You can also opt to receive your bills by mail, but if you do you will be charged a $25 administrative handling charge per invoice.
Q: What do I get if I sign up for H&M Bay’s free on-line services?
A: You will have access to everything on your account at any time, i.e; viewing the progress of your order/shipments, full capability to look-up, print/re-print invoices/all backup when needed and you will have access to print statements.
Q: Is H&M Bay EDI-capable?
A: Yes. In fact, some of our customers desire to automate their order entry system through a direct interface with their company’s legacy system. H&M Bay has an in-house programming staff that can work with your IT department and fashion an “automated” method for quotes and orders.
Q: Does H&M Bay carry cargo insurance to protect our product?
A: H&M Bay is fully insured, including a $500,000 cargo insurance limit.
Q: Who do I contact for anything related to a claim?
